The next monthly Alameda Kanikapila (4th Saturday of every month) is this Saturday, March 24, 6:00-9:30P:

Halau Makana
Island Hawaiian Studios
1122 Lincoln Avenue
Alameda, CA 94501

This has been a very well-attended kanikapila, averaging between 25-30+ participants. All levels are welcomed, as well as hula dancers and spectators. Admission is free, and they sell an ono plate lunch dinner (usually $7.00), beverages, and baked goods which help to support the halau.

Bring your instruments, He Mele Aloha songbook, and extra copies of songs that you'd like to share that are not in the Mele book. Mahalo to Leo Baculpo for organizing the kani and Kumu Hula Lani Cid-Iulio for graciously offering her studio for us to jam in.

Aloha,
Doug
