Posted - 09/27/2011 : 4:19:29 PM Dear fellow lovers of slack key, Perhaps you have heard the sad news of Master Ki hoalu musician, singer and songwriter Pekelo passed suddenly from this life on August 24, 2011. I am sure he is jammin up ther with Gabby and singing with Aunty Genoa rught now. But we miss him so much here. My name is Robin and I was the other half of Pekelo for just about 18 years. I am writing to you to tell you not to download any songs from the album "Piha Hauoli" listed on itunes currently. Only one week after Pekelo passed away, One of his old producers of his album "Piha Hauoli" thought they should cash in on his sudden death. Pilialoha (Susie) Duro and Travis Duro of Maui did not have the right to upload this album onto itunes, they gave him all the rights to this album after Pekelo had a lawyer look into why they refused to pay him mechanical rights due to him. They could have found me on Maui. They could have asked. They said they never broke even. But...you always take a risk in business, especially when you over order, and then proceed to blame the musician. I told them that any proceeds should go to his children and not to them. Auwe! Some shame you folks! We, his family are trying to get his music up there and available real soon under "Simply Pekelo". I hope you can be a little patient--Mahalo.

Posted - 10/16/2011 : 06:44:28 AM Dear Robin, I am SO GLAD you made this post. There's NO way I would help these people profit from Pekelo's passing. I am disgusted at their behavior and will be very happy to wait as long as need be to have the album done properly by you. It's bound to be a beautiful album.
Bless you and please take good care of yourself in what must be a sorrowful time, made worse by this kind of thing.
