The "Slack Key Posse" (Ka'io Music 2009) is off and riding, featuring Kaua'i musicians Pat Cockett, Pancho Graham, Kirby Keough and Ken Emerson. Recorded over the last two years, Ken was able to put together the music while touring throughout Europe and the US while working with engineer Ron Pendragon on Kaua'i, while Pat was traveling in Brazil and Kirby toured Austria with Ken. Part of the album was recorded on Kaua'i, and also in Paris, France and in San Francisco, California. The music features fine performances through the heart of Paniolo country with plenty of slack key guitar, ukulele and steel guitar, and vocal harmony. Side kicks include Kester Smith (Taj Mahal), David Jenkins (Pablo Cruise Band) and others. Release date August 28th. Limited first run available through www.fattuesdayrecords.com

Hey great news, Kenny. I missed seeing you by about a day when I was on Kaua`i in June.

Welcome aboard Ken. Na Pali CDs are some of my favorites. Can't wait to get this one.

Sounds great, Ken. We play your music here in Seattle on the "Hawai`i Radio Connection" shows (and I programmed a lot of it when I did the Hawaiian channel for Muzak a while back). Would love to get a copy of the new disc for airplay as well - let's get in touch.
