Posted - 07/14/2012 : 03:24:02 AM I posted this and other photos on Facebook, but thought I would share this one here: I had a unique experience recently. When I visited a friend who is a State Department cultural attache in Sarajevo, Bosnia recently, he invited to bring a ukulele and share some music at a medressa, an Islamic high school, in the mountains near Sarajevo. Most of the young people had never seen an 'ukulele before and were very respectful during the performance. Afterward, we had a chance to talk with them and play a few more songs. When I told them that Hawaiians' favorite things to do are eat and play music, most of them burst out "Us, too!" |
