Moving to Boise in late 2007 I was surprised to find that there was no local uke group. Soon I connected with Jack Lawson here at taropatch and we started a jam group right after the new year in 2008.

As of this week, BUG has been going continuously for five full years. Yay! Over the years we have gone through various permutations (weekly meetings, meeting at pizza parlors, meetings that were first half instruction and second half jam session). Now we seeem to have a formula that is working for the long run, and usually get 15-20 people at our jam circles every two weeks. We meet at a local senior assissted living facility. It is win-win. We get a place to meet, they get on-site entertainment for their residents.

Congratulations to the great folks in Boise on your fifth birthday! I cross paths with folks who have visited your group, and they report a fun time to be had. Hope to find out in person some day!
