Bryan Tolentino---one of Hawaii’s top players and much-in-demand studio musician---is offering an `ukulele workshop at 6:30 pm on Friday, July 23rd. Bryan will be in the Seattle area for two concerts with Weldon Kekauoha (July 22 in Kenmore and July 24 in Renton).
His focus will be on playing chords up and down the neck, chord substitutions, picking vamps, etc. Bryan loves to share his extensive knowledge as a successful soloist and ensemble player.
All skill levels are welcome, although those most likely to benefit will have a good command of the basics and be ready to take their playing to the next level.
The workshop (at a private home in Bellevue, Washington) will be followed by a potluck-pupu-party for all participants. A $30 fee will be collected at the door. Please contact “dr. cookie” (Don Yoder) or “neeej” (Jean Smith) via taropatch.net to register and for details.

Sounds like a lot of fun and learning was had up dea! Wen you coming to Vegas? Long time since I was up north in Washington State. I was stationed at Fort Lewis wit yo bruddah Glenn back in da mid 80's. BTW, wea is yo bruddah nowadays? We used to hang out on our weekends and jam wit da boys up in Renton! He always mentioned how you taught him to play, and man, bruddag Glenn was pretty mean on dat Kamaka Lili'u he had! |

G7, C7, F
D7, G7, C
Once you have all these chords/vamps down, you got the essentials for a LOT of Hawaiian songs. |

Aw shucks. Sometimes Auntie wishes she lived on that side of the country. I've got A7, D7, G vamp down pretty good. But I need more lessons.

Yes, I'll be in the Seattle area this week! Just finished an awesome weekend at the 40th annual 'Ukulele Festival and I'm really looking forward to being with you in the Pacific Northwest!
