Posted - 11/01/2011 : 10:26:05 AM I will be on the Big Island during camp but not participating (go figure). I would like to attend the concerts, though. I sent an email to the "contact us" link on the web site but got no answer. Any ideas who is in charge that I could contact? Also, anyone have personal contact info for Keola? Mahalo |

Posted - 11/21/2011 : 2:13:28 PM Gramps...Gramps..Gramps, Once again you've surfaced again like James Bond's nemesis Dr.No to haunt the halls TP, and bring me out. Karl...Karl...Karl has the years of icy cold air frozen your last 16 brain cells, has your age, (which makes old growth redwoods pale in comparison)brought you out into the light to once again see your lanky frame's shadow? Its music camp, not IHOP, Cliffton's, or Home Town Buffet...did you confuse the two in the hopes of steamy bowl of gruel, or some other soft food you can eat, hands free while not pulling your oxygen caddy along?. Don't leave Alaska, why come to Hawaii when just like Sara Palin, you can see Hawaii from your back door. Besides, your pet moose will miss you. Do locals in Hawaii really need to see another "black socks with zorries, zinc oxide nose, tuck-in aloha shirted" tourist?....ugh!...Remember,its Ukelele, now Yukelele. Have fun! :-) ~slkho |

Posted - 11/04/2011 : 07:03:34 AM I will send you an email, Karl. In the mean while you should sign up for the Forums on KONAWEB: http://www.konaweb.com/forums/visiting.cgi
It is a great place to get advice on this kind of stuff! Also I hope you can come by the Keauhou Outrigger on at least one Sunday night. I play there with this group: http://www.konaweb.com/ladies/ and we always have hula dancers.

Posted - 11/03/2011 : 7:59:45 PM Thumbs, I think there's a hangnail on the left big toe, too.
Konabob, I sent an email to Keola but it came back. I guess I don;t have the correct address. I would love to attend the whole camp, but my wife is taking off ten days from school so we can enjoy some not-so-crowded (like Christmas or spring break, she's a teacher) time together, like birding, hiking, snorkeling, horse back riding, etc.. I'll be asking you more about those activities via email later. I jus twant to know if I can poke my head into the concerts, wander around the premises one afternoon and visit with old friends, stuff like that. I may bring along my solid body lap steel, if i get it finished in time :} |

Posted - 11/02/2011 : 07:02:48 AM Glad to hear you are coming to town, Karl! I am definitely involved with Aloha Music Camp, but mostly in the "making things work" department. Send Keola an email. Let him know you are interested. I am sure he would be willing to work something out for you. He might even convince you to come to camp... You don't have to stay at the Outrigger to come to camp, you know!
There are quite a few TaroPatchers signed up for Aloha Music Camp, and as the weather on the mainland is not getting much warmer these days, more people are starting to think about coming to Kona. (go figure). Camp is coming up in just about 3 months, and I can think for a number of TaroPatchers who I would love to see here in Kona again.
February on the mainland will be like this:

February at Camp will be like this

... kind of a no brainer... |
