Well, Merrie Monarch is over. What a Merrie Monarch it was. There was some amazing hula presented, indeed, by ever halau in the competition. Me, though. I am very biased. I was rooting for my halau -- Halau Mohala `Ilima and I am proud to say that my hula sister Lilinoe Sterling is the new Miss Aloha Hula. Her `auana performance was "Kaulana Na Pua" and call me biased or not, her hula was stunning. Aunty Mapuana de Silva and the ladies also took top honors in wahine hula `auana and 2nd place in kahiko, taking a 2nd place overall finish. There is also plenty good videos of other music to watch this week. It is 10 years since Uncle Moe went to sing with the angels and I have a small kine tribute to Uncle Moe this week.
