Aloha kakahiaka kakou! Its Mele Monday! I have a swell list for youn this week, but not quite as big as I usually have. We spent several days in Winchester, IN at the Aloha International Steel Guitar Assoc. annual convention & lu`au. Guess who the featured act was! It was my other hanai family -- yes, the Abrigo `Ohana. Timi was featured prominently on the steel guitar as he lovingly played his "Darla" (name of his steel guitar). The folks there were blown away by the talent of the three kids, and we were also fortunate to havve mom Lanet on bass and dad Tim taking care of the sound for the entire convention time. I havge a few videos up already, but planny more to go. It was mighty fun! The city of Winchester presented the Abrigo `Ohana with the key to the city and now 9 yr. old Quinn is the honorary mayor! Winchester has never had such great traditional Hawaiian music according to them. They've had planny great slack key but never everything all in one neat package. Lanet and Quinn also treated them to some hula and Emily and I helped teach some of the visitors hula for `Ulupalakua and they danced it at the lu`au for everyone! Was GREAT fun! And then, oh my oh my, when they heard Justin Alderfer and Paul play slack key, they were really blown away, especially when Timi added some steel guitar to it. Oh my oh my. I've got several hours worth of video so I will get them up as quickly as I can.

Enjoy this week's playlist. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4420D9F0E15F2985
