Saw on FB, Ernie Cruz passes away? Is this true?! If so, it's a sad day indeed.

Ernie Cruz Jr passed away on Tuesday in a bodysurfing accident at Sandy Beach, well at least that's the assumption. An autopsy is schedule to take place. Another speculation is that he may have had a heart attack & drowned.
To add insult to injury, Ernie's youngest brother passed away on yesterday (Friday) He had been in hospice for awhile. I don't know what actually took his life. Must be very devasting for the Cruz Ohana.
Ernie Cruz Sr also passed away earlier this year on May 14th of 2016. |

Sadly, SOKA called me yesterday to advise that his November concert with John Cruz was cancelled and my tickets would be refunded due to the death of Ernie Cruz, Jr. According to Honolulu papers his death was by drowning. Ironic that he was found in the "Surf". Its another sad day for lovers of Hawaiian music. Aloha Ernie, you music will live on. |
