I thought this might be a fun topic to have,

here is my pic of the day. I was on google maps prowling about, looking at the street view of the lovely little town of Honomu. Here is a screen shot, note the shop on the near end

And the ice cream next door is good eats on a hot day. Makes the fingers stick to the fretboard kind of stuff.

FYI, I'm having Dave Krause make a koa and spruce 8 string. Lookout!

We stopped in Honomu (it's on the way to Akaka Falls) last summer and enjoyed pastries at the bakery, which also had an amazing array of jams and jellies. The antique store in town was a good place to buy old Merrie Monarch shirts as souvenirs.

Resonator guitars are, as a rule, sweet sounding things. When thumbs, Gary and I played in Bellingham last week, I took my 8 in C13 and my koa and spruce 6 in B11. Very nice. As to NWFolkife, you could hear me across the room, but it was very quiet in between there and close up. I think it's because the sound goes up and bounces off the ceiling.

Ozzie even recorded a couple of tracks on his last CD with that National resonator we gave him. He also told the story of how he came about the guitar in the liner notes. Hey Jack & Kory, did you guys get to play it? It's pretty sweet........and loud too!!

Here's one you'll like, guitarded - Q: "How fast was that car going when it hit your guitar?"
