Posted - 05/05/2011 : 11:52:00 PM Kalyn is indeed pretty darn talented. She's in California? Her `olelo is very good. I had to subscribe to her channel and now she is my You Tube "friend". I think I need Mitch to teach me. Please move to Ohio, Mitch. |

Posted - 04/25/2011 : 07:25:31 AM Raiatea & Napua Makua – (I do not know the name of the song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZeHzuBvODA That's Napua's original composition, "Lawakua" -- written in tribute to her sister. First time I heard Napua sing this (live at Border's Ward Center), she struggled to sing it through her tears -- the mele really speaks of the deep, deep bond between the two sisters. Nice to hear Rai sing this one.
Amy Hanaiali`i, Napua Makua & Raiatea – oops, another song I don’t know http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtRDBGb2z9c This is Kaumakaiwa Kanaka`ole's "Nani Ahiahi" mele -- from his "Ha`i Kupuna" CD. Beautiful, isn't it? |
