Dusty and Gerry,
We are so sorry we'll be missing your wedding! How I've looked forward to that, on the shores of beautiful Napili Bay, no less.
Unfortunately for us, the COMPANY has set a hard deadline for our XBox project, and I've had to postpone our arrival in paradise for the next Sunday. Grumble...
But boy, am I miffed. I will never work for that company again. Your wedding is so much more important to me. We'll be thinking of you. All our aloha, we'll catch up with you at cocktail hour on Sunday. Have those Mai-Tais ready!

Posted - 06/12/2011 : 08:02:07 AM Oh, and Norman,
The room you see in the third photo, upstairs, is MY room! We always get that one so we can keep an eye on Dusty and Gerry on their lanai. Ha ha.
I'll ask Dusty to take a photo of us standing on the balcony when we are there. Wish you and Denise were coming too, you both would just love the place and the workshop.

Posted - 06/04/2011 : 12:01:40 PM In Hawaiian tradition, anuenue (rainbows) were a sign of the presence of ali'i. Thus, they were considered a bad omen, as one did not want to be near the chiefs. Therefore, a rainbow is a sign that one should not go in that direction.
In this case, as the rainbow appears to be in the west, perhaps it is a sign that this is a poor time to travel to Japan? |

The ceremony is at 6pm.

Posted - 05/24/2011 : 3:33:08 PM Yikes Lawrence, I just checked out their rates and they definitely went up. The last time I was there they had just renovated the rooms but not the grounds, and the prices were still quite reasonable. I miss the late night jams on the beach, the full moon illuminating the ocean with Molokai and Lanai clearly visible in the background, the coconut trees swaying gently in the breeze, drinking Julie and Larry's wine (oops, starting to digress) . . . . I'll be thinking of you guys in June.
Aloha, Doug |

Posted - 05/24/2011 : 09:37:46 AM Yes - and the room rates are about double what they were when you were last there Doug!
Markwitz/Retro - You should both know that one should never get between an Irishman and his wee Pot-O'Gold (or his Guinness)!

Dusty, is that The Mauian? They've done a nice makeover since I was last there, which was way too long ago. Enjoy your stay!
Aloha, Doug

Posted - 05/23/2011 : 11:56:22 AM I think that the lady in the photo adds immensely to the photo itself. Gives it the human element, with kind of an air of mystery or anticipation.
I just wish it was me....instead of her. |

Posted - 05/23/2011 : 08:32:09 AM Dusty,
I've never had the occasion to meet you in person. You seemed to be well liked by many of the members of this board, so pardon me for saying this but....HAVE YOU NO SHAME, SIR?!!
To post these gorgeous photos of your romp in paradise while others of this board go about our day to day lives here on the mainland is nothing but cruel. I mean, after seeing the photo above I almost wished that the world really would have ended on May 21st as was promised, but NOOOOO. I have to be confronted with photos of a real paradise instead. There.... I feel a bit better now. But I'm sure I'm not feeling quite as good as you are at this moment.
Hope you are having the best time ever. What an astoundingly beautiful photo. Enjoy every second!! |
