I am heading down to the east bay to attend my niece's high school graduation next week. I want to get her a nice lei for the occasion and am looking for suggestions for some local shops who carry leis. Any help is appreciated and mahalo in advance!

Costco - wow - just like the islands. Great idea - thank you. Now we'll have to get our Seattle Costco to carry leis and spread some more aloha up here in the chilly and still wet Northwest.

Howzit Iakonu,

If you start your drive from Seattle real early Saturday morning, you could join us at a monthly kanikapila at an Alameda halau (near Oakland) from 6P-10P. We love meeting fellow Taropatchers. Let me know if you'd like more info. How long are you in the Bay Area?

Aloha,
Doug

Mahalo for the heads! We are taking the inland route through Lake Tahoe and arrive down in the Bay area on Weds/Thurs June 1-2) so it sounds like I'm going to miss the kanikapila. I re-strung my travel guitar last night and I'm ready to take my slack key on the road nonetheless.

Thank you both. We leave Saturday from Seattle for a long and relaxed drive down to the Bay area.

I may be a bit late, but check the local markets, especially Safeway (Vons), and Ralphs. They carry orchid leis this time of year. I believe they are $18.

Call my friends at Aloha Warehouse...best leis in the SF Bay! It's also where I teach my monthly 'ukulele workshops.
