Posted - 06/08/2011 : 07:19:14 AM Hey everyone, Can someone help me find the version of "Living On Easy" that includes the part at the end, "come my house and eat the bagoong, thats the filipino style" and then it goes on with other "styles." Dont know if its a medley, or just a longer version of the song. Is it the song on the Beamer album "This Is Our Island Home: We Are Her Sons"? I have the shorter version from the "best of" album, but dont want to buy the other album unless I know thats the version on it. I havent heard the song in a while, so I'm not positive who sings the version I'm looking for. Both the Gabby and Keola and Kapono Beamer short versions I have sound so familiar, I dont know who sings the one I'm looking for. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Posted - 06/08/2011 : 7:37:53 PM Try this: http://www.mele.com/music/artist/kamehameha+schools/na+keiki+o+kamehameha/
Track 7 is "Kau Kau Song," featuring a children's chorus from Kamehameha, along with a couple of the guys from the group Imua - each verse is about different foods that you eat when you "come my house" - Filipino, Hawaiian, Japanese, etc., in a very pidgin style. It gets a little goofy at times, such as when one guy wants an extra scoop of mac salad, and he is told that he gets one scoop, plus vegetable; the music stops altogether, and he says: "that IS my vegetable."
Sound at all familiar? Small clip available at: http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/window/media/page/0,,1708551-6095897,00.html
But no connection with "Living On Easy," so this may not be what you are after. |

Posted - 06/08/2011 : 09:13:33 AM The song is "Come My House," recorded by Linda Dela Cruz, recorded on "Kuhio Beach Girl" LP. You can get the song on the CD "Hawaii's Canary" released by Cord / HanaOla.
It's up on the iTunes Store.
