Let's face it, none of us here, no matter how loud we shouted were capable of making any impact whatsoever on the matter.Hopefully now that it's dead & buried we can shoot the breeze about less controversial stuff that make one another smile instead of fume.

Right on, Braddah!

A wise man once said, "Jus' press." We play music, listen to music, hang out with others who like music, eat with others that like music, buy instruments to play music, learn new tunes, learn new tunings, meet new people, get new recipes, learn from others, teach others, change strings as needed and repeat the process.

I agree with what Retro said, everyone busy with other things. Everybody still gotta earn livings too. I've been off enjoyin the summer and out learning and making music more than reading messageboards ;)

Wanda... in many ways, both positive and negative, for the last couple years Taropatch has been nearly synonymous with wcerto. I would think you could answer your question better than any of us could. What do you think is the cause?

Facebook is the invention of Satan. Forums, email, telephone not good enough? Blech!!!

I don't think it's boring, but the feeling has changed. I still talk with some prominent ex-members of TaroPatch and some of them echo something similar.
I've personally never felt a need to comment on every single thread, and I think that feeling is partly what drove some away.

Anyway, Andy hit it on the head with the social media comment. People do change the way they communicate. FB has altered they way a lot of people communicate. 8 years ago, forums and blogs dominated. Stuff changes I guess.

Still love the group here on TP however!

Cheers!

Wanda, it's been slow for a while- a year or so ago I really enjoyed the pidgin thread, but it seems most of the people who made the interactions lively have moved on to other things. These days posts catch my fancy fairly rarely, so I just check in when I have nothing else left to look at. Sad, I know.

It would be nice if we could get another really lively, humorous thread like that one going again. A place where people really show themselves once more, beyond the realm of music.

(Edit- I looked back and see it was over three years ago, actually, that the pidgin thread started up...)

What the man said :) I already have 3 wonderful instruments, and I was kinda getting into collector mode there. Not really justifiable for me at this point in life.

Guitars come and guitars go. It's the playing them that's important.
