Posted - 07/11/2010 : 08:37:26 AM Aloha to All from Portland,
I am a luthier and ukulele builder and player from Portland, Oregon. I enjoy getting the biggest voice out of such wonderful instruments. My evolution as a luthier has definitely taken me to some new areas for the ukulele family and it has shown me a lot. In the process, I have enjoyed developing a number of unique instruments. One of which was exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Craft this year. I would invite you to see some of my work on my MySpace page: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=401016285&albumId=7921
I would appreciate hearing your comments.
Mahalo,

Posted - 12/29/2010 : 5:39:54 PM Hey Mark beautiful work!!! Who woulda thought... a wisie-uke. I'm in Vancouver, BC, but I get down to Portland regularly. (do you come up to Wintergrass? CU there). I'm mostly a guitarist; long-time folkie, jazz, bluez, more recently bluegrass and since my first visit to Moloka'i 2 years ago, kiho'alu student! Do you know Uncle Keli on Moloka'i (James Keliipio Mawae)? Paul. |

Posted - 07/12/2010 : 1:03:48 PM Aloha, Mark. Welcome to Taro Patch. Maybe you could talk story with us about your experience with different woods and the sounds you have gotten out of the various woods. That topic comes up from time to time. Also what your opinions are regarding instruments sounding better the more they are played. |

Posted - 07/12/2010 : 06:45:53 AM Hey, Mark, I thought I was seeing a multi-scale fretboard on the Big Bottom Myrtle, but when I went to the closeup I saw that it was some very creative inlay work.
