Aloha no!
My name is Bill from San Francisco. Born and raised there, I can say that living in San Francisco is like living in a bowl of granola. What ain't fruits and nuts is flakes.
Your job: figure out which one I am!!!! 
I'm a beginner on the ukulele, and a beginner hula dancer. My only regret is not starting this journey earlier in life, because I'm having a ball now!!!

As Slack key says so well, ..."Leave it outside right next to your bed. This way, every time you see it, you'll pick it up and start playing it..."
That is what I do with my guitar. I have one in the bedroom that I play before I go to bed. It relaxes me and takes away all of the problems of the world, even if only for the 15 minutes.

Eh, Bill, da firs' one, play Hawaiian music in your means of transport and when you do household tasks. Maximum exposure helps build your ear. |

 Hey wait a minute...I'm Bill.. Nah jus kidding..WELCOME BILL! Aloha from the Island of Maui, Hawaii . Braddah...you jus keep playing, and never stop. Here's a tip for you...Take your ukulele out of it's case. Leave it outside right next to your bed. This way, every time you see it, you'll pick it up and start playing it  My 1st instrument was my Dad's Martin Tenor. When in grade-school, we'd spend our recesses and lunches jamming our favorite songs on the grass. We even entered a contest, and won 1st place! The ukulele is a very easy instrument to begin with. Later, you can get yourself a "kika" (guitar), and start to learn how to jam some slack key! Take care Bill! |

Welcome to Taro Patch. Despite some of the recent postings here, please do not be afraid to come talk story with us.
And believe you me, I know how it is to come too late to learning hula. I am less worried about `ukulele because I have no designs on becoming a virtuoso. I just want to strum to accompany myself now and then when I feel like singing. Hula, though, is part of my love for researching into the mele and as an adjunct to my cardiac rehab. |
