Posted - 08/30/2012 : 2:29:39 PM I'm getting ready to amplify the sound of my Takamine G-335 and my Taylor 450 acoustic 12-string guitars for small gigs. I'm looking to buy a small amp with good sound for 12-string slack key for less than $350 and a pickup that can easily be mounted in a soundhole (or two) without any hassles or drilling. My local music store will be getting some Fishman amps and pickups pretty soon, including the Neo-D Passive Humbucker Soundhole pickup and the Fishman Loudbox Mini Acoustic Amp. I was wondering if any of the slackers on this website might have any experience with Fishman amps and pickups?? Thanks in advance! |

Posted - 09/04/2012 : 3:50:12 PM I've heard nothing but good reviews about the Loudbox Mini so far. I guess I'll just have to test it out myself when it arrives at the store later this month. I'm also probably going to try out a Roland AC-33 amp, which also has rave reviews, including here. I tried out a used Crate 60 watt acoustic amp today (can't remember the model), but I was not impressed by the sound quality at all. |
