Posted - 10/19/2011 : 12:56:29 PM Well, I exhausted myself searching the archives for this so I thought I would toss it back out there. What tunings and keys are most commonly used for this mele? I think I heard Taropatch key of G and Drop C key of C. Jerry Santos (a couple of different youtube videos) is playing in something odd, maybe standard tuning. Anybody have a favorite? Dave |

Posted - 10/19/2011 : 9:16:06 PM I really like this song, especially on the new Led Kaapana album entitled The Legend. This is a great album and this is probably my favorite tune on it. It sounds like the key of F, with Led playing what sounds like a ukulele for the main instrument in the mix, with a him overdubbed on guitar for the rhythm part. I'm not sure about the ukulele tuning, but I would guess the guitar is in Taro Patch slacked down to F. I like the sound of my guitar in Leonard's drop C(CGDGBD) for this, capoed up to the 5th fret to sound in the key of F so it sounds more like the sweet ukulele sound. |

Posted - 10/19/2011 : 3:05:12 PM Try open D, DADF#AD and use a capo if you need. Play the middle four strings ADF#A (5-2) as you would play the high four strings in G tuning DGBD (4-1). |
