Just sitting here in the studio listening to Kapono Beamer and his Great Grandmother, Great Grandson and hearing one "hit" after another. These Helen Desha Beamer songs are just charming melodies and Kapono's arrangements give them such lovely settings. Very nice playing and quite a natural (but multiply overdubbed) recording.

So many great CDs, so little time.

To me, one of the most underrated players. I would love to learn to play in this style. His "Slack Key Dreams of the Ponomoe" is one of my "desert island" discs.
