I just put out a You Tube video of me doing No Ka Po by Keola Beamer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQLH6euRUF4

Of course I'll never really be "finished" with any of these songs but I've pretty much learned all the notes. Now, as for the emotion and subtleties... That's another story.

Hope you enjoy it.

I have a channel under Hucklechuck45 on You Tube with some other stuff.

Regards.

Thanks for your encouragement on No Ka Po.

The version of Ka Manu is on Keola Beamer's site under his beginner's realm. He has 6 exercizes, 2 songs and 4 tunings in the beginner's section and I think it costs $9.95 to make all of it available for 3 months.

Here's a link.

Great job, Terry!

I took the opportunity to watch your other vids as well. Nice to see a slack key version of Ka Manu on youtube!--i learned this song on the uke a while back in standard tuning, and have been trying to find a version for guitar to study.

(Of course, that means I'll need to start venturing out of taropatch... )

Mahalo for the kind words about my playing and the help in formatting key words. I'll go out and review them today!

Regards.

Great sounding videos Terry. To make your videos more searchable on youtube, when you write your "Tags", if you put commas after multiple words, it becomes a searchable phrase. So "slack key guitar," will be searchable as a phrase. If you don't use commas and just write "slack key guitar" then the words become separated into "slack" "key" and "guitar". I figure the reason people post video on youtube is to share them with as many people as possible. This will make your beautiful videos more visible.

LOL!! I can picture it now: "Wow, dog! Did you do that??!!" Kinda like Sirduke's "hoofhearted", eh?

Actually, Ebony was coaching my legato playing and reminding me to arch my wrist a bit more. Labradoodles are really smart.

Regards.

Very touching Terry.

I've also learned something completely unexpected...I need a dog. I can train him to lick my hand like that and I'll blame my mistakes on him. Up 'til now I have only considered them a useful scapegoat for flatulence:)
