This month I am very excited to feature my cousin, renowned Kumu Hula and musician Kawika Alfiche and Engineer Forrest Lawrence who has worked with everyone from Norteno heavyweights Los Tigres Del Norte, to rock icon Chris Martin of the band Coldplay. Mahalo nui for the input! May include lyric translations in future installments...trying to edit down what can potentially be an already wordy blog is challenging. Have to keep it compelling to the casual reader as well as the hardcore Hawaiian music enthusiast. Video seems to be a great addition though ;) Thanks again for reading! |

The video of Ho'i Hou Mai linked in that interview with Kawika Alfiche really helped me understand the rest, with both the Olelo and the English translations along with watching the hula. Ric
