Many of you may have read one or more of Uncle Kihei's wonderful essays about various mele -- the history, the language, etc. Halau Mohala `Ilima has a new web site and now the essays may be found at the following link. I urge you to read the essays as you get time or as you undertake the study of one of the mele. It aids greatly in your understanding and as such, I am sure, will improve your playing of the music.
