I've been working on "Blue Hawaiian Moonlight" for years and lately I've figured out reasonable arrangements in both taropatch and drop C tunings. With a bit of video trickery and some unusual instruments I put together a duet with both versions. I used my Tacoma Papoose tuned to Bflat taropatch (open G up three half steps) along with the carbon fiber Composite Acoustics OX in Bflat Wahine (drop C down a whole step):

Beautiful, easy going style. I really like your arrangement.

We've had the brass toucan for years, I think Lynn found him on a trip to Mexico. He's spent most of his life in a closet because she never found just the right spot to hang him up, so I liberated him recently and he's my new recording mascot. I'm thinking of changing the name of the studio from Digital Duck to Brass Toucan <grin>.

Hey, Fran! I play it in C on my C13 neck on my Stringmaster D8. Gabby overdubs himself twice (3 steels!) on the Gabby Pahinui Hawaiian Band V1 Album. It's a beautiful mele!

Oh yeah, Jack. That's the version I used to learn the song. When I do it right I catch a few Gabby licks here and there in my arrangement.

Eh, Fran! Nice job! I play it in C in G tuning. Plenny variety in ki ho'alu.

Hey, Kory. I probably will never record it, but I do a vocal version that follows the pattern of the Gabby band with an instrumental verse preceding the vocal. I do that starting in G then mod to C for the vocal. Plenny variety indeed.
