A buddy of mine builds custom guitars and she did a couple with a "steampunk" visual theme for this year's Healdsburg Guitar Festival. She stopped by on her way home and I got to spend some time with one of these new guitars, a koa and German spruce cutaway in a size she calls her Model F. The koa is really exquisite and the sound and playability were wonderful. It has huge dynamic range, a whisper to a shout at the touch of a finger.
