Uncle Dennis spent last night in the hospital and is being treated for water in his lungs. Please join me in prayer and sending Uncle D positive thoughts for a quick recovery.

I also understand that Uncle D plans to retire from music next year - after 50 years. Get well quickly!

It was an amazing show last night at the Willows. Uncle Dennis even addressed the audience via facetime from the hospital. Hard not to get emotional. Visit www.teamdenniskamakahi.com where you can make a donation if you'd like. T-shirts will be on sale soon.

Here is an update from David Kamakahi.

I just wanted to take a moment while I wind down from the long day to just Thank everyone for coming out tonight. The event was beyond what I imagined. Team Dennis Kamakahi was formed at my kitchen table with Kristin Alm after I heard about dad's cancer, I felt powerless, sad, and frustrated, but seeing how dad was being so brave against one of the most terrifying diseases on earth made me want to do something constructive. Also there were probably others like me wondering "What can we do?" Dad would have wanted to do something to put those thoughts at ease. And after a lot of discussion, and encouragement from Kristin, We brought it to Kale Hannahs, Matt Sproat, and Trisha Kehaulani Watson-Sproat where we met and just threw out ideas of everything we can do. Ryan Gonzo Gonzalez and John Matsuzaki jumped onboard to help. We wouldn't have been able to pull this off without a dedicated team like them. Then adding on Pali Kaaihue, DJ Pratt, and Lynn Piccoli everything fell into place, our hosts jumped on board, and of course our talented musician friends. But the most important team members...were all of you who came to support. Whether you were volunteering, serving, filming, performing, watching, listening, you are all the most important part of Team Dennis Kamakahi. Welcome aboard Now the battle begins.
