I just uploaded Rainy.ly ... and modified Rainy.pdf adding a variation.
The *.ly file exported by TuxGuitar is an older version, so I just worked out a Lilypond 2.14 boilerplate and paste in the voice music from the TuxGuitar export, with a few tweaks.
Unfortunately, Lilypond (at least v.2.14) only allows text notation for the staff, but not the tab staff.

I've been using TuxGuitar, too. On my Linux box, its printed output is not so great -- either printing directly, or saving to PDF. Much better is saving to Lilypond format, tweaking, and converting to PDF. Lilypond does great output, but the tradeoff is fairly complex syntax.

Posted - 04/15/2014 : 1:53:22 PM It's been out for quite a few years... I'd suspect someone transferred his hand tab into a program...
so while I don't know, and it was pretty good, but there might be newer and better software available. I so love to see the corresponding musical notation (not that I read well, but I can see and hear the rhythms and pitches.
His hand-written tabs have some minor quirks, like how his anticipations are sometimes notated in the measure before (or is it after?) the downbeat of a measure..but once you understand those conventions, it's not a problem. And I'll take every one of his tabs I can get lay my hands on.! They're Gold. |
