Hiya Fran,
I see it as a mission to bring slack-key to those who are unfortunate to have never been *touched* by it so,yeah, i usually throw in several slackkey(-ish) numbers inbetween the totally different other stuff.. I like to balance the mix to keep the audience (and myself) wondering what's going to happen next. 'One size fits all' is just a marketing ploy. :) Something totally different: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MzZ1xAOO0fE
That said though, even when doing something totally different the hawaiian 'feel' allways makes itself noticed :) (like the B-part to this totally un-hawaiian song @ 0:53) https://m.soundcloud.com/hooragood/something-minor-alasdair
