In taro patch tuning, say you're blowing over the I chord; and you're making your way up the neck, playing 6ths on the 1st and 2nd strings.

You get to the 12th fret, D on the 1st string. What pitch are you using on the 3rd string? The F#, or the G? The fifth between the D and G does not work for me, but the F# seems out of character.

The 12th fret is F# and D, the same form as on the 5th/4th frets for G and B.
