I didn't become aware of Hui `Ohana until 30 years ago (next month) when we first visited Hawaii and I found a "The Best of Hui Ohana" CD in the Tower Records in the old International Marketplace in Waikiki. Ten years later I would first meet Led when Led & Brozman were second billed to Alison Krauss at the University of Texas Austin Ballroom. I walked up to Led at a Burger King, asked him to sign the CD, and he said "Where'd you get this?".
I've seen Led live numerous times since then, tracked down Dennis once on Maui before he died, but never saw Nedward except a brief live video set on KHET where he played guitar.
Two questions:
1. Are there any available videos of Hui `Ohana? I've never been able to find any.
2. What did Nedward typically play in Hui `Ohana? Some of the recordings he is clearly playing upright bass, but on some I wonder if it is electric bass.
