Going back to work on the long-stalled slack key book, I've noted a YouTube channel for Kokua Films Hawaii and am trying to figure out who/what this entity is. The uploads on the channel are short film/video pieces that appear to come from a variety of sources ranging back at least to the 1980s, but there is no indication of exact dates or the original sources or producers. There are performance videos (perhaps originally made for TV) as well as a documentary/interview piece on Sonny Chillingworth. "Kokua Films Hawaii" sounds like a non-profit organization, but Google hasn't revealed a home for it.
Anybody know who this is?

Russell, glad to hear the book is still a work in progress! Don't know anything about Kokua films but I enjoy their videos when they pop up. |
