I started out planning to do a demo of a free video editor, Shotcut, https://shotcut.org/ by doing a self-duet video. Then I got a little more ambitious and decided I would do a hula medley, switching lead and rhythm parts between songs. Then I found that just doing a sloppy jam gave a bad result and I needed to actually figure out parts that worked together. And after trying a bunch of different approaches I came up with a simple sustained chord for the rhythm parts so the result is barely slack key at all, even though the guitars are in taropatch. Oh well, it is what it is:

The main reason I wound up with this simplistic arrangement was time pressure - we had booked our Hawai`i trip after missing last year. We had some moments trying to squeeze the Covid test into the 72 hour window before the flight, then figuring out the Hawai`i health form and uploading the test results and and and. But we made it, we're back in Kailua and looking forward to shooting some clips with Ledward.

Lovely work as usual, Fran. Even if it's not quite what you were after, it was still great to listen to your playing.

Enjoy Hawaii, and give my aloha to Uncle Led
