Back in 2015 Mike Kaawa stayed with us for a few days and we got a chance to do some recording. It's not often that I record vocals but on this occasion I put up an AT3035 for Mike's singing along with the big red Avantone stereo mic for the guitars:

Recently I was visiting the archives and really enjoyed Mike's version of "Ua Noho Au A Kupa." We did his clip in the key of D, I used D wahine tuning, but I started fooling around with the song in taropatch G. Then I collected a few different versions from my CD library and from YouTube. Gabby and Atta Isaacs did a version as did Kapono Beamer and several others, so I borrowed a little from here and there and came up with this arrangement:
