Posted - 11/28/2009 : 12:58:28 PM On this Thanksgiving weekend I would like to thank the people on this forum for the inspiration they have given me. After having set aside my guitar for many years out of sheer frustration, I picked it up 18 months ago and have played nothing but slack key. I have learned a lot on this forum, not the least of which is the love of this music. I can finally play "Moe Uhane" by sight and I almost have this sucker memorized! For me, this is a major accomplishment. Thanks to all of you who have one way or another helped along the way. |

Posted - 11/29/2009 : 06:59:27 AM I have a similar past with guitar. I stopped playing for over 11 years.
This is what I learned after starting back with slack key: if you relax and try to let your music flow good things will happen. Nahenahe is a very important musical concept.

Happy Thanksgiving. Glad to hear that you've dusted off the guitar and started playing again. That is what it is all about - playing the music. Hana hou! |
