Frustrating morning with mis-leading searches takes you to sites--to "vultures" selling ringtones and t-shirts and plungers etc.
Would love the translation and words to this lovely song, if available. I do have the cd, if I can find the insert...but really love those huapala layouts, when available--not the ringtone sales idiots I seem to trigger! |

The following is courtesy of Keale... --------------------------------------------------- Niihau with her people, humble and strong, of the setting Sun; this song uses many of the island’s kaona (hidden meanings) and geography to tell a story of love. Auntie Emalia weaves Niihau’s history & geography into a sacred moena pawehe.
Ua nani Niihau, kuu aina Ailana i kawelona a ka La Ka La, kau mai ma Kahikina Olino ana ike ana ulu Na ulu kaulana i ka hapapa Hooipo mau ana me kealoha Ua nani Niihau, e kuu aloha e ---------------------------------------- on repetition of last line, it sounds like he changes it to "Ua Nani, Ni'ilu...if that makes sense. I'll work on the translation now--some I see, others I'll need dictionary! Thanks to (Walter) Keale, and Auntie Emalia for a beautiful song.
