Today, August 1, 2010, is our 40th anniversary. I started last month shooting clips and sifting through pictures to assemble into a video for my sweetie.
I wrote "Ka Makani `Olu`olu" several years ago, recorded it on the "Kaleponi" CD, and usually play it to end my shows.

Thank you all for the kind wishes. Yes, the hair filled a couple of grocery sacks when Lynn gave me a homemade cut in preparation for meeting her father.
We stayed around the house on Sunday and had friends over, but we're stretching the celebration by visiting the gorgeous Napa Valley for a couple of days. We usually make day trips but this time we're staying over at the Harvest Inn in St. Helena, eating at some absolutely amazing restaurants, tasting Chardonnay and sparkling wines, and just generally relaxing in some of the most beautiful weather I've ever experienced. Who knew you could take a vacation from being retired <grin>.

That was beautiful music and a beautiful video. Fran, you know you have me sitting over here with tears runnng down my cheeks. I love mushy, sweet sutff and a man who ain't afraid to show it! That's why you have 40 years! Lynnie is a lucky lady.
And I loved the afro. That was a LOT of hair! |
