Posted - 01/23/2011 : 06:18:37 AM The HARA Board of Governors has made some changes (improvements, we think) to the submission requirements for Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. The biggest one is that artists who do not reside in Hawai`i are now eligible, in the various genre categories. For details, here is the latest HARA newsletter: http://www.scribd.com/full/45858485?access_key=key-1rfu63le61540b9ygg27
Deadline to submit a recording for 2011 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards is end of this month. |

Well, that's a decision we gotta work on at the National level; it took the PNW Chapter nearly 20 years of lobbying to even get that one category added (starting before we had a chapter - or even a branch office - here). |

Posted - 01/26/2011 : 1:39:30 PM HARA has a better staff with a vast majority of talented people that will enable the next step in obtaining a charter membership of the Grammy Awards or in fact obtain the 'Hawaii category' since we already have the qualified membership located in Hawaii and not separated from the Pacific Northwest Chapter which only allows 1 category. Nuff said. |

Posted - 01/23/2011 : 07:53:09 AM I think HARA has shown itself to be more progressive, more flexible, more accommodating and more responsive to its members in the past three years or so than ever before. Thank you, Auntie, for being a part of that. |
