Aloha!
I am looking for an episode i think. Well more specifically Slack Key and Other Notes made in 1977. I guess it was aired in something called the Homegrown TV specials. There are some clips on youtube but I was interested on getting my hands on the full thing. Would anyone know where to get it?
Mahalo!

Also an example is this:

Greetings, molokai_kuro and Auntie Maria:

I'm one of the producers of Slack Key and Other Notes and am really glad to see your mention of it here and your interest in it. It was the brainchild of Ron Jacobs. He suggested to musician Peter Moon and independent producer Mike Keesling that it would be cool to do something big and unique to promote local music and musicians. Peter had just set up Hailona Distributors and Mike was working on projects with the Hawaii Observer newspaper and Videololo, one of the very early video productions companies in Honolulu. The idea firmed up to do a cover story in the newspaper coinciding with a TV show on KGMB. The Hawaii Observer cover story came out March 9, 1978 and I assume our air date was around that time. So it was a co-production of the Hawaii Observer, Videololo, and Hailona Distributors.

Years, then decades passed, and the show was largely forgotten. About 5 or 6 years ago, I found a playable copy of the edit elements and we've been working to digitize the video and make it available. We have been searching for any off-air copy of the KGMB telecast but without any luck. The station threw out all their old air masters years ago.

It will soon be in the `Ulu`ulu video archive and as many libraries and school systems as possible. Also a YouTube channel is being set up to carry the entire show.

How do you remember the show? Do you remember it from when it aired or from the clips that have been posted?

Thanks again for your interest. I'll post an update when the entire show is available.

That was produced by Ron "Whodaguy" Jacobs. You can contact him via his website:
