Aloha TP-er's,
I haven't been of TP for awhile, those who know me know why, but I do surf it from time-to-time to see the "pulse" the subject matter...enough said.
Probably most of you don't need to be reminded, but I didn't see anything, (unless I totally missed it) about the anniversary of the passing of Auntie Genoa, (2/25) and Uncle Ray Kane (2/27). Let's not forget these two very special people and all they gave us,(as with many others who have gone before them). For Uncle, let's keep Slack Key alive & strong...remember it's Uncle's words on the TP cover who encourgages us to play, and not let Slack Key be forgotten. Last of the "Old Masters" his music is strong, vibrant, and beautiful as the day he first played.
Auntie, Uncle, I miss your voice, miss your spirit & Aloha, miss your brief friendship.
Aloha.

i didn't know of these dates either thanks so much for posting that.

and of coincidences,I've had one too, I was just discusing falsetto singing with my daughter on friday, and watching videos of Auntie Genoa the other night. there were some lovely, funny interviews too :)
here is a nice one, it'd be nice to grow old as gracefully

I had forgoten the date, but for some reason I decided to watch the Raymond Kane DVD and also the Eddie Kamae slack key DVD this weekend. Probably no connection to the anniversary but is a strange coincidence non-the-less.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your post. One thing that I have been taught is that every time I pick up my guitar and play a song, I am trying my best to honor my teachers and others who have played before me. I may not be Hawaiian, but I can strive to do that.
