Hi my name is Geoffrey Sweeney and I'm new to taropatch.net. I joined this forum in order to connect with the slack key enthusiasts out there.
Every week my hanai father George Kahumoku Jr. hosts a Slack Key show in Maui at the Napili Kai Beach Resort. My mother and I created a you tube account which is updated frequently with high quality video clips from the show. It can be viewed http://www.youtube.com/user/NancyKahumoku?feature=mhum.
We created this channel because we noticed that many of the slack key artists out there have little or presence on youtube. I'm plugging the channel here because I know this community will enjoy it.
I look forward to participating in this community in the future and will be posting links to slack key youtube videos here from time to time. |

Welcome to Taropatch! I've been enjoying the YouTubes. A couple weeks ago Patrick Landeza and a bunch of us had lunch with your Dad and then attended a St. Mary's College luau where he played. It was great to see him. He packed poke for the luau but the airlines lost his luggage the day before. They found his luggage after the luau, but all the fish had spoiled by then. Bummer!
Hope to meet you some day--let us know when you're in the Bay Area. Also, send my Aloha to your Mom for me. She's da best!

Oh cool, Nancy was under the impression that you didn't do that and that I needed to do notify people here when he uploaded a video. I'm glad to see his channel is known around here. Still I plan to participate in this forum in other ways. |

We watch George's videos every week. My I please call your attention to the "Talk Story" category below here. Every Monday, I compile a list of You Tube video links that showcase Hawaiian Music. I subscribe to Nancy Kahumoku's You Tube channel, so I always know when a new video is put on You Tube. We enjoy sharing his videos and those of the many guests he brings to his show. |
