Hey Retro,
I tried something once (actually a coupla' times). It's called a "Hula Girl Shaker".

http://www.ukuleles.com/Technology/HulaGirlShaker.html

You take an old 1" speaker cone and glue it to a clothespin. You clip the "Hula Girl Shaker" to the bridge of your guitar (or ukulele for that matter), connect the speaker leads to your CD player, and -- VOILA. . .

I can play all of John Keawe's songs on my guitar and/or ukulele!!!!I can even put the guitar into the correct tuning and hear all of the resonances!

Very nice - glad to see Herb Ohta, Jr. finally get a Hoku; and Mark Yamanaka & Napua Makua were very deserving "big winners" this year. Some surprises for sure, but overall - a wonderful list.
