Posted - 08/19/2013 : 04:39:48 AM I grumbled when my better (cheaper) half came home last week with tickets to see Kuana Torres Kahele perform with the hula halau Na Lei Hulu I Ka Wekiu at the new SF Jazz Center, because the tickets were for the cheap seats waaaay up in the balcony. Turns out it was a great show, the acoustics in that little jewelbox of the theater are beyond compare, and now I kinda like watching hula from above. Here are three selections from the evening:
"Waimanu I Ka Lauoha"
"He Aloha No 'O Honolulu"
"Piano Ahiahi" |
