The 2013 Northwest Folklife Festival is coming up at the end of this month at the Seattle Center; here are the scheduled acts that I've been able to identify as of possible interest to folks in the Hawaiian/Pacific Islander & `ukulele communities (I'm in the "*"-ed ones) ---

11:45, Fountain Lawn: Brother Noland - Hawaiian star musician
5:00, Exhibition Hall: Sunshine From Polynesia - Hawaiian hula & Tahitian drumming
5:50, Fisher Green: Olo Kani - `ukulele based Hawaiian music
7:40, Alki Court: Na Hilahila Boys - Hawaiian music

SATURDAY, MAY 25 ---
11:40, Fisher Green: The Castaways - rock/pop on `ukulele
12:20, Fisher Green: Kate Power & Steve Einhorn - classic Americana, includes `ukulele
1:00, Olympic Room: Learn to Play the `Ukulele - instructor Susan Howell

MONDAY, MAY 27 ---
* 11:00, Center Theatre: SUPA/Seattle `Ukulele Players Association - classic songs by `ukulele ensemble
5:05, Alki Court: Kermet Apio - Hawaiian music/slack key guitar
6:40, Folklife Cafe: Kini & Kuki - Hawaiian music duo

Several TP'ers are performing in Da Odda Guyz, including noeau, baritone, slipry1, thumbstruck & falsetto2002.

Da Oddah Guyz will be at Folklife again this year - Monday, May 28, 7:20 pm, Fisher Green Stage. Noeau won't be available this time, but thumbstruck, slipry1 and I will be, and joined by Kermet Apio.

Eh, Momi! T'anks, eh, fo da pitchas! NWFolklife is gruellingly fun. Too much to see, listen to, plenny wala'au, good grinds, -- OK, I'm on overload. Well, one more day, back to the fray.

When Retro & I saw Kory at 2:30 in the Hospitality Room, he was playing with Juan Barco, the great bajo sexto player. They sounded mighty good.
