Hi, folks.

Dusty Strings Acoustic Music Shop in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood has asked Uncle Rod Higuchi & me to return this fall to present our popular workshop, "`Ukulele for Absolute Beginners."

As it says, this session is designed for those who are brand-new to the instrument ... which is probably not the case with most of you reading this post. But perhaps you know of someone for whom this would be just the thing, to get 'em started down that captivating path to musical joy.

So, if you would, please help us spread the word and the fun of `ukulele. Mahalo!

= Uncle Gregg Porter =

Here's the details:
`Ukulele for Absolute Beginners

Instructors: Rod Higuchi, Gregg Porter
Sun., October 11, 2:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m., $35.

Been wanting to play an instrument, but didn't know where to start? Try the little four-stringed charmer that has long been considered the easiest instrument to learn. Two guys from the Seattle `Ukulele Players Association will get you started on learning your strings and getting a few chords under your belt, so you’ll be able to play songs by the time you leave.

To register -
Phone 206/634-1662 or toll-free 866/634-1662
E-mail music @ dustystringsstore.com
Visit the shop in person at 3406 Fremont Ave. N (open Mon-Sat 10 am-6 pm, Sun Noon-5 pm)

Also, please make note of our special session for the holiday season:
Christmas With Your `Ukulele

Instructors: Rod Higuchi, Gregg Porter
Sun., December 13, 2:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m., $35.

Are you relatively new to the uke, but can handle a range of basic chords in a couple of keys? Then you are ready to learn some songs for the holidays. Two guys from the Seattle `Ukulele Players Association will give you a seasonal songbook, and we’ll all play and sing a number of wintertime favorites.
