Just heard from the Mendonesian Rain Forest that registration for Lark Camp is now open.

Lark Camp - Celebration Of World Music, Song & Dance 2011
July 29 - August 6, 2011

Music and Dance from the World Over
Music, Song & Dance Workshops * Cabins * Dances * Parties * Sessions * Great Food * Dance Hall * Dining Hall * Camping * Fire Circles * Mendocino Woodlands Redwoods
Full Camp 8 Days or Half Camp 4 Days

Check out the Lark Camp Website: http://www.larkcamp.com for complete information.

Aloha Land will be well represented once again:

Michael Arago-Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, Hawaiian Songs
Kumu Kalae Miles-Hula & Ukulele
Mark Nelson-Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, Fun With Your Ukulele

That's just three of dozens of instructors. If you can think of a musical tradition from somewhere in the world, there's someone who can teach the music, the songs and the dances. Imagine non-stop learning and jamming, 24 hours a day.

Lark is truly a musician's utopia... or hell, depending on your point of view, I suppose.

... which is why I always say, "Life's too short, don't wait till next year!"

For the record, Kevin Brown & Robyn Kneubuhl have both taught at Lark for the past few years. Each has decided to forego the long trip away from home next summer.

Looks like we will all have to go to Hawaii to study with 'em now!

Michael Arago is a wonderful musician and a passionate proponent of Hawaiian music. He has been instrumental in creating a great scene in the redwoods through his radio shows, family band and through organizing luaus and performances for visiting Hawaiian musicians.

I am personally stoked that he'll teach slack key at Lark. He has a great touch, and brings a huge amount of aloha.

And what can I say about Kalae? He blew every one away last summer with his singing and dancing.

It'll be a grand camp, aye.

For the record: My only affiliation with Lark Camp is that I've taught there for most of the past 30 years.

But I'd pay to go--it is just so dang fun. Look for some smokin' late nite honky tonkin' in the Roadhouse this year---"Dim lights, thick smoke, and loud, loud music..."

Yep, CountryRestroom Music, just like John Keawe plays....

No Kevin? No Robyn?

Not that the Mike/Mark/Miles show isn't worth the price of admission
