A friend of mine from Canberra is going to be visiting Seattle next year. She has a `ukulele podcast called Ukulele is the New Black, where she interviews `ukulele players about their passion for the little instrument.

Meredith is interested in meeting up with and/or interviewing some `uke players in Seattle while she's there from March 2nd to March 4th (she's leaving early on the 5th).

IIRC, there's a bunch of Patchers who live in the area, so I said I'd ask on her behalf if there's anyone up there who'd be willing to have a chat with her for the podcast. If she could make one of those legendary kanikapilas, that would probably be even better :)

Her email address is podcast @ ukuleleisthenewblack.com.

Geoff - g'day from Canberra, Australia.

I'm here in Seattle and so is Thumbstruck. There's a uke group, SUPA (Seattle Ukulele Players Association) that meets weekly, a group called STRUM which meets at the Kona Kitchen Wednesday evenings (5th AVE NE at NE 90th St), a monthly jam on the 2nd Saturday (9am - noon)each month at the Kona Kitchen, and a biweekly kanekapila at Jean Smith's (she's NEEJ here - send her a message and she'll tell you when and where).

Thanks, Kory. I've given Meredith your email address, so she'll probably be in touch directly.
