Rik, How did it go at L&Ls? I was driving down the NJ Turnpike in the sleet and snow this evening and in a funk until I remembered . . . I still had a Riatea Helm CD in my computer - - voila (I wonder what the Hawaiian word for that is) -- I popped it in my rental car and was instantly StarGated to Hawaii. quote: I kept thinking what John Keawe called Hawaiian Long Underwear -----> Boxers.
I doubt there are many ki ho'alu kane/wahine in Asbury Park.
I'll be back this weekend

Not that I know of but there is one about 60 miles north. Are you heading north at all? Yes, just when we thought spring was here, winter reared it head once more. |

Open mic at L&L was nice, small turnout however. Only Dusty, Terry, (along with his friend Herb) and myself. A nice evening of slack key music. Hopefully a larger turnout this Friday at Kealani's in O'Side. We all had a good time. Dusty always steady and great. I'm always impressed by Terry's play. Did you know he knows 30 songs memorized, very impressive Terry. One day I hope to play as well as both :-) See you all Friday...WWWWWWEEEEEEeeeeee-Haaaaa! -slkho

Aloha! With Sheila, it had to be fun! I'm looking forward to hearing her play again! The Irish tunes are as nahenahe as the ki ho'alu. Will there be a kanikajammapila after the gig Friday night? that's a hard drive on a Friday..... I'm thinking, I'm thinking! n |
