SDSKS Dudes, F.Y.I. Aug 10th Weds. @ L&L, the usual time/place. Keith says he'll make it this time around. As always, good music, and free food! There may even be chance Keith will sing falsetto! (bring earplugs, or blackboard to scratch nails on ha...just kidding bro) I'd sing but there's a restraining order on me to do so. -slkho

I have to stop by Kanikapizza for a minute to chat with Kathy about the San Diego Ukulele Festival, then on up to L&L (if I can remember where to find it). I forgot, what are the hours? 1800-2100? <-- sorry the Kapena in me.
I have my Taylor Nylon kika and my KoAloha Tenor ukulele in the "Hummer for Hobbits". Is there usually an acoustic amp? |

Couple of AMPs - not necessarily acoustic. I've got an EQ |

hi all,
i've not played with my buds for awhile; it was a real treat for me! ken has gotten drop dead good, and mika`ele aounnded so good on his nylon string. he did a hammer to the metal version of one of sonny's tunes (i forget the name, sistah sarah does the same song), and when he missed a few frets he stopped, took a breath, and played the song again perfectly, except he did it even faster. terry and bill were, as usual, great. i forgot my picks and my high D string went make, so i got to play terry's taylor without picks; what a beautiful guitar.
aloha, keith

Sorry I missed a good time @ L&L, sounds like you guys had a good time. Glad you made it Keith & Mike. Keith did you debut your falsetto pipes? Too bad I wasn't there, I always carry extra thumb/finger picks in the big gear bag I always haul around. Hope to catch you all at the next L&L. -slkho |

Hey Rik, When you get a chance why not post a few piks of "na Ipu a Ipu Heke" you got in the oven?
Next time I will practice more than two songs. Thanks for the kind words Keith.
Anyone interested in a couple of duets? Steel and Nylon kika or kika and ukulele? I have some kika duets tabbed out in Keola and Mark's book. They sound good on the CD -- maybe better live. |
