In just a bit over a month, it will be Lei Day. Having experienced it on O`ahu last year, I can tell you that the beauty of the lei in the competition is awesome. It is so exciting and beautiful to see the queen and her royal court, to hear the kahele, to see the kahili, the beautiful outfits, the fantastic hula. And no forget the Makaha Sons at the Bandstand and Bros. Cazimero at the Shell in the evening.

This is one art that has not been cockaroached by any other culture. It is uniquely Hawaiian, regardless if the lei makers are Chinese or Japanese or poi dogs. No matter. They weave aloha into each garland.
